Five Best Indoor Water Parks
Timber Ridge Lodge and Waterpark
Timber Ridge Lodge and Waterpark: (Lake Geneva, Wisconsin) An easy day’s drive from several major cities, including Chicago, Madison and Milwaukee, this place offers an indoor/outdoor waterpark spanning 50,000 square feet!
With something for every age group, smaller children will delight in the kiddie pools and mini slides, while older children will love the activity pool, complete with a basketball court and rope climb!
Of course, waterparks are defined by their slides, and this place does not disappoint! There are two main attractions here, Timber Rapids and Avalanche Falls. Timber Rapids is fast slide that lets you ride either single or double, while Avalanche Falls is one of only two slides of its kind in the entire country!
Here, you will find an exciting experience as you zip down the slide all while surrounded by flashing lights and fun, upbeat music!
Kalahari Resort and Convention Center
Spanning just under 175,000 square feet, you can race your friends on steep slides or even practice your surfing skills on the flowrider!
The lazy river and plentiful hot tubs allow you to take a break from the more intense activities, and children have plenty to keep them entertained with age-appropriate slides and fountains.
You can even elect to take lessons that will allow you to become a mermaid/merman for the day! There are lockers available for storing all your belongings, and plenty of places to refuel with food and drink during the day’s adventures.
Wild West Indoor Water Park
(Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin) This Wilderness Resort is the largest waterslide resort in the entire US, featuring two parks outside and three indoors, by definition, crowding here is relatively minimal even during the busiest seasons, as the waterparks are only open to resort guests.
Those who want to get their blood flowing will delight in a trip down the Black Hole, which plunges you into darkness complete with sudden drops and turns, while a group of four can take a ride together down the Fantastic Voyage, which simulates a wild plunge on a raft.
There are bumper boats available as well, along with a large hot tub for relaxing.
A swim-up bar offers a refuge for the park’s adult patrons, but what makes this place so special is the attention to detail.
Each aspect of the place is designed to spark imaginations, much like a theme park, so you can be sure that everyone in the family will have the time of their life here.
The Pump House
(Jay, Vermont) Located at the Jay Peak Resort, the Pump House offers a chance to warm up and play between taking runs down the mountain.
There are different tube slides that can be ridden alone or with a partner, all of which deposit you directly in the lazy river, which spans the entire park.
One of the biggest attractions here is La Chute, which reaches speeds of up to forty five miles per hour and sends you into a full circle! There is also a double-barreled flow rider as well as indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Looking to take a break from the water?
Grab a cocktail at the bar overlooking the entire park, or hit the arcade with the kids.
